About the project

Mape Plastics is one of the Nordics’ leading distributors of raw materials to the plastics industry offering a safe and flexible distribution partner to manufacturers. The company was founded in 2001 by twin brothers Magnus and Per Waldenström. The last two years have seen spectacular growth for the company and Mape Plastics are now expanding across Northern Europe.

Gustav Svenungsson, has been the Chief Marketing Officer at Mape Plastics since the end of 2021. With years of experience in advertising and digital agencies, Gustav made the decision to test BrightBid’s AI solution to accelerate their growth further.

 

Mape Plastics: the pandemic fuelled double revenues

In the last two years, Mape Plastics have doubled their turnover by successfully supplying companies during the pandemic-fuelled global supply chain issues. This caused many manufacturers a raw material shortage and for many Nordic businesses to decide to relocate their production back into their home country’s. This trend will help Mape Plastics continued growth.

 

What do your future plans look like?

“We are still a small and personal family business but we are constantly growing. We have 8 employees and a turnover of around 220 million SEK (£18m) in 2022. The plan going forward is to invest in neighbouring countries to Sweden with a higher presence through more aggressive marketing. Sustainability remains an important pillar for our company and we are seeing growing demand for green materials which make up a larger proportion of our revenue. It is important for us to positively contribute to the plastics industry becoming more sustainable.” Gustav Svenungsson

 

What were your challenges in digital advertising before you started with BrightBid?

“Before BrightBid, Mape Plastics worked on a project basis with various agencies. When I was hired to run marketing at the end of 2021, we decided to increase our marketing budget and put in place a more structured approach. My mission was to develop a strong Paid Search strategy to drive more leads from our website and ultimately to get more new business. BrightBid have helped us with our plan delivering more new leads from our website than ever before by driving quality traffic that converts.
